Company Introduction

T&T Supermarket Inc. was found in 1993 with two stores in BC.  Since then, it has expanded rapidly to become Canada’s largest Asian supermarket chain with 27 stores across the country: 12 in Metro Vancouver, 6 in Alberta, and 9 in Ontario (7 in GTA and 1 in Ottawa, 1 in Waterloo).

The Role

Reporting to the Assistant Central Kitchen (CK) Manager (or his/her delegate), the janitor must ensure compliance with all food safety related standards of the company. Responsibilities of the janitor position include but not limited to maintain manufacturing equipment cleanliness and operation of sanitation equipment.

Major Responsibilities

1. Draw up production schedule to determine type and quantity of goods to produce
2. Plan and prepare ingredients and dough for bread, cakes, rolls, mousse, puddings, sweet goods, batters and icings and frostings according to standard operating procedures or special customer orders…etc
3. Control product (Bread, Cake &/or other Pastries) quality, inventory level and wastage according to the established standards
4. Oversee the mixing of flour, dough, cake mix and other baking ingredients; supervise the baking production processes
5. Provide guidance and supervision to the Bakery Production team, ensure fair distribution of work and ensure proper scheduling is done
6. Provide training to Bakery Production Assistants and provide feedback on staff performance 
7. Participate in new product research and development process, encourage innovations
8. Order and replenish inventory as and when required
9. Responsible for the cleanliness, hygiene, equipment and tools maintenance follow up and workplace safety of the production area
10. Assist to answer customers’ enquiries
11. Lead by example by performing duties of Bakery Production Assistants and Supervisor as required
12.
Provide support to the whole bakery team, demonstrate team work and foster good working relationships.

Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements

1. Accountable, pleasant and is able to take initiative
2. Possess knowledge and 1-2 years of experience in making bakery products (Bread, Cake &/or other Pastries), including dough mixing, cake cutting and decorating…etc
3. Possess knowledge in workplace health & safety and food safety (FoodSafe Certification requires)
4. Have knowledge and experience in supervising bakery production workflow and controlling cost and wastage
5. Ability to manage and train employees
6. Good communication skills , able to communicate in English. Chinese is an asset (Cantonese &/or Mandarin)
7. Good organization, and problem-solving skills 
8. A good team player
9. Flexible to work in various shifts, including weekdays, weekends, holidays, morning and evening hours
10. Have a good understanding of tools & equipment relevant to the jo
