Key Responsibilities
As the Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving business growth and strengthening relationships with broker partners. Your responsibilities will include:
Broker Relationship Management
- Develop and nurture strong relationships with a network of brokers, ensuring their needs are met with tailored insurance solutions.
- Act as a trusted advisor, providing insights and education on underwriting guidelines, coverage options, and market trends.
Sales & Market Growth
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, expanding the companyβs market presence within the commercial insurance sector.
- Implement strategic sales initiatives to increase premium volume and enhance brand recognition.
Collaboration & Strategy Development
- Work closely with underwriting and leadership teams to align business development efforts with company objectives.
- Provide market intelligence and feedback to support product development and competitive positioning.
Client & Portfolio Management
- Monitor portfolio performance and ensure high levels of client satisfaction through proactive account management.
- Analyze industry trends to anticipate client needs and recommend strategic adjustments.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should demonstrate the following:
Education & Experience
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a commercial insurance broker or underwriter.
- A post-secondary degree or diploma in business, finance, insurance, or a related field is preferred.
- A Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) or Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) designation is an asset.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products, underwriting principles, and market dynamics.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Key Competencies
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
- A strategic mindset, with a results-driven approach to sales and business development.
- The ability to work independently and manage time efficiently in a remote work environment.
- Travel across Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Northern Ontario to maintain and grow broker relationships.
- Must reside in the WinnipegΒ area to effectively service the designated region.
