DescriptionOur Earth & Environmental Applied Solutions team (EEAS) has an opening for an Environmental Construction Project Manager based out of British Columbia.
Our team handles a diverse range of both construction and engineering operations for work across Canada. As a Construction Project Manager with the Applied Solutions team, you should have strong project, program management and leadership skills. You should be able to define, develop and lead multi-disciplinary teams. Our team delivers construction as prime contractor and as construction manager for environmental work related to site remediation, mine closure, decommissioning, demolition, marine construction and civil construction projects. You'll be working with a regional team, delivering important local and national projects.
You'll help to identify and develop new opportunities for WSP in Western Canada and foster our existing relationships with our valued clients. As a Project Manager, we expect that you'll help lead, mentor and develop our team, sharing your experience and providing direction.
As a Project Manager, you'll have oversight on our projects while being accountable for quality of work, cost, schedule and importantly, the safety of our projects.

What you can expect to do here:
- Realizing new construction opportunities for large-scale, multi-disciplinary projects across Canada.
- You have field and office-based experience, project management expertise and sound knowledge of applicable provincial and federal environmental regulations.
- Project delivery – client management. Managing scope and cost, schedule, quality and safety.
- Working collaboratively with technical project resources that have oversight of work.
- Work collaborative and closely with HSSE project resources on project execution.
- Support preparation of detailed engineering estimates for projects.
- Leading teams in the preparation of proposals and presentations to promote services and bring in new work.
- Leading construction personnel and design staff to address technical, and constructability issues.
What you'll bring to WSP:
- Ideally, solid experience as an Environmental Project Manager
- Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering and Management, B.Sc. or equivalent.
- Licensed Professional Engineer and/or ability to be licensed in other provinces, would be preferable though not required.
- PMP designation would be a bonus.
- 5-8 years experience in a project manager role in consulting/construction.
- Experience in heavily regulated industries such as, Oil and Gas, Mining, Environmental Remediation, Demolition, Marine construction and/or Infrastructure project experience.
- Knowledge of B.C Provincial Environmental Regulations would be an asset
- Willing to travel 50%, and work independently and remotely when required.
- Ability to develop, implement, and audit Environmental Management and Work Plans on major projects in highly sensitive ecosystems
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to create a positive project culture in regards to the environmental protection measures
- Ability to interface with multiple stakeholders and present project updates
- Enjoy working outdoors in remote parts of Canada in all seasons
- Demonstrate creativity and a willingness to learn new things and expand horizons
Position Details:
- Position is 100% remote project based
- The project that you will be supporting is Fly in/ Fly Out, 2 weeks on-site, 2 weeks off rotation
- Travel, meals, and accommodations will be provided
Compensation
Expected Salary (British Columbia): $74,600 to $114,000
