Description

The Engineering Quality Specialist II is responsible for ensuring that products and processes meet stringent aerospace industry standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves conducting quality audits, developing and implementing quality assurance processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve quality issues.

 LOCATION: 3280 South Service Road, Oakville, Ontario, CA L6L 0B1, On-site Position

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and implement quality assurance processes and procedures to ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards (e.g., AS9100D, ISO17025 & NADCAP).
  • Create, maintain, and update quality control documentation, including inspection reports, FAI reports as per AS9102, quality plans, and non-conformance reports.
  • Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement, driving continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Lead investigations into quality issues, utilizing root cause analysis techniques to determine underlying problems and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of manufacturing processes, materials, and finished products to identify any non-conformances.
  • Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure product specifications are met and to provide guidance on quality-related matters.
  • Use a wide range of inspection equipment including (but not limited to): Micrometers, Bore Gauges, Verniers, Coordinate Measuring Machines, and 3D Scanners

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years related work experience, ideally in a custom machining and quality environment
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO9001:2015, AS9100D, and related audit process 
  • Knowledge of ISO17025 and NADCAP is preferred.
  • Experience in quality assurance or quality engineering within the aerospace industry.
  • Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean).
  • Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA).
  • Certification as a Quality Engineer (e.g., CQE) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
