Junior Technical Designer

Our unique capabilities, combined with our network of local manufacturing partners allow us to offer white glove service solutions for various partners needing customized, technical garments. 

Reporting to the Manager of Research, Development and Design, the Junior Technical Designer plays an important role in the design process of Wuxly products on both the brand and capabilities business units.  This person will contribute to bringing concepts to realization, through the creation and maintenance of technical sketches, fit, specification and construction and technical packages, and more. 


What You Will Get Up To: 

  • Act as a brand ambassador for Wuxly in all interactions and communications.

  • Utilize and work in accordance with all “Wuxly Way” processes  
  • Utilize Wuxly ERP System (Odoo) in all relevant aspects of this role  
  • Ensure ISO 9001 and 14001ncompliance in all relevant aspects of this role   
  • Translate concepts into sketches and CADs to effectively communicate design intent
  • Develop branding elements, print patterns, and other graphic assets to align with the overall apparel vision
  • Translate design intent into production-ready documentation, incorporating silhouette, fabrication, and branding elements
  • Oversee the full product lifecycle from design handoff to production, ensuring alignment with fit, construction, and brand standards
  • Lead the creation and maintenance of tech packs, including detailed technical sketches, measurements, specification and construction details
  •  Support fit sessions, take accurate notes, and update technical specifications accordingly
  • Manage fit comments, garment specifications, and construction details to ensure product accuracy 
  • Review and provide feedback on fabric, trims, and construction details to ensure product integrity
  • Ensure consistent sizing by managing grading across all classifications and handling exceptions as needed 
  • Evaluate proto, pre-production, and TOP samples to ensure measurement accuracy, fit, and overall garment quality
  • Assist in maintaining pattern corrections and grading specifications on Gerber
  • Execute updates on technical sketches using Adobe Illustrator
  • Maintain organized records of final approvals, including patterns, tech packs, and style documentation
  • Incorporate pre-production sample feedback from manufacturing partner into updated technical package versions 
  • Manage seasonal workflow and deadlines using PLM, Fit Agenda, and internal tools
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings and adhere to corporate calendar deadlines 
  • Other duties as the person and role evolve 

 

Skills And Qualifications We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Fashion Design, Apparel Development, Textile Science, or a related field. 
  • 1+ years of experience in apparel product development or a related role
  • Highly organized and detailed oriented
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator)
  • Working knowledge of pattern making Software (Lectra, Gerber)
  • Working knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, and production processes
  • Working knowledge of PLM software
  • Enjoys diversity and a dynamic work environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Determination to solve problems and work with a solutions-focused mindset
  • Passion for innovation, sustainability, and technical product development in the apparel industry
