DEPARTMENT MANAGEMENT (60%)

  • Coach, mentor and develop team members
  • Recruit, hire, and train new team members
  • Manage team workload/headcount to ensure team efficiency and effectiveness and meet business need
  • Run and analyze team reporting, ensuring all members are aware of and meeting department metrics and KPIs
  • Be the Business Process Owner for the department-specific SAP module(s)
  • Analyze all aspects of corporate logistics to determine the most cost-effective & effective means of transporting
  • Establish & monitor specific supply chain-based performance measurement systems
  • Resolve problems concerning transportation, customer care, and logistics systems.
  • Track and evaluate carrier performance
  • Ensure all department processes are updated and/or lead building new department processes, as required
  • Identify, think through and articulate opportunities and challenges, fostering a culture of continuous improvement of efficiencies and customer experience
  • Lead department projects to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness, as required

 

DAY-TO-DAY (40%)

  • Oversee outbound and intercompany logistics operations (domestic and international)
  • Ensure carrier compliance with company policies and SLAs
  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Care, Warehouses and Finance to ensure smooth execution of orders and management of customer accounts
  • Prioritize team tasks to meet required completion dates
  • Ensure team is coordinating and communicating delivery schedules with customers
  • Support team in back-end management of Proof of Delivery and carrier invoices
  • Support team in interacting with Intermodal/LTL/FTL Consolidation teams to identify and resolve issues
  • Support team in providing reports to internal and external customers as required
  • Work closely with carriers to ensure effective execution of goods transportation
  • Ensure team is organizing and maintaining hard copy and electronic documentation supporting order fulfillment, distribution, pricing and contractual obligations
  • Support team in overseeing retail orders / deliveries
  • Support team in coordinating inventory transfers to stores, photoshoots, markets.
  • Ensure team is issuing credit memos for returned goods

 

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • 5+ years of related Logistics/Supply Chain/Operations/Inventory/Distribution experience
  • Previous experience leading/coaching/training a team and demonstrated ability to get results
  • Experience with logistics and inventory software - ERP / WMS /TMS systems
  • Highly skilled in building relationships, influencing others, leading change, and developing talent.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodology; experience identifying improvement opportunities and leading teams to complete projects
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across functions and obtain necessary “buy in” from stakeholders
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and prioritize duties to meet deadlines daily with limited supervision
  • Proven record of delivering results
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent computer skills; Microsoft Office Excel and Word

The salary range for this role is $55,000 - $65,000 per year.
