The Position:

Our downtown Edmonton client is seeking a part-time Report Developer for a 3+ month contract to play a crucial role in our client's transition from Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains to Microsoft Business Central.

What You'll Do: 

The Report Developer will be responsible for converting and optimizing reports from Dynamics Great Plains on-prem to Business Central in the cloud. This role requires a deep understanding of both systems, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data migration and report accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze existing reports in Dynamics Great Plains and understand their structure and functionality.
  • Design, develop, and implement reports in Business Central, ensuring they meet business requirements and standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to confirm report requirements and ensure accurate data representation.
  • Optimize and enhance existing reports for performance and usability in the cloud environment.
  • Conduct thorough testing and validation of reports to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on the new reporting system.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to report conversion and functionality.
  • Stay updated with the latest features and updates in Business Central.

Mandatories:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Report Developer, preferably with experience in Dynamics Great Plains on prem and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience working with SQL, data modeling, and report development tools.
  • Experience with cloud-based reporting solutions and data migration.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence tools.
  • Strong knowledge of financial and accounting principles.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure.
  • Previous experience gained in financial institutions or insurance companies.
