Working as an integral part of the Ta7lnew̓ás Education Department, this position reports directly to theTa7lnew̓ás (Education) Director, this position coordinates the affairs and expansion of the Capilano Little Ones School. Responsible for a growing faculty (i.e.20- 30 staff plus professional service providers such as Speech and Language Pathologist, Art Therapists, Sensory Therapists, tutors, and Neuro-psychologist), this position will manage a growing student base of 100 to 120 children (K4 to 7) over the next three years. It is responsible for the being a part of the building of a new facility and for the long-run development and integration of a Squamish Language Immersion program within the school. Committee and community work is a significant part of the role including representation on the Parents Advisory Council, School-Based Resource Team, Community Volunteers, and ISC. This position represents the department on FNSA. FNEA and, from time to time, takes on other short-term appointments to inter-departmental committees or external advisories as requested. The position is also responsible for grant applications, reporting, child assessments, complaints, nutrition, health, and safety. This position is involved with other collaborative projects within the People Services Division. This position works to with other team members for the Implementation of our ways of Education (Education Jurisdiction).
