partner staffing on behalf of our Client, we are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Professional Biologist (P. Bio or RP.Bio) with a strong background in vegetation and wetlands ecology. Experience in fisheries, aquatics, and wildlife is considered a valuable asset. The successful candidate will contribute to environmental assessments, restoration planning, and conservation projects across Alberta, with a focus on boreal and parkland regions.



Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field surveys for vegetation, wetlands, and associated ecosystems.
  • Identify and classify plant species, assess wetland boundaries, and evaluate ecological health.
  • Prepare technical reports, including baseline assessments, impact assessments, and mitigation plans.
  • Provide expertise in wetland delineation and function assessment according to Alberta Wetland Policy guidelines.
  • Assist with fisheries, aquatics, and wildlife field assessments as needed.
  • Collaborate on environmental monitoring and restoration projects.
  • Liaise with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members in fieldwork and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Professional Biologist (P. Bio or RP.Bio) designation or eligibility.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in vegetation and wetland assessments in Alberta.
  • Proficiency in technical report writing and data analysis.
  • Experience with fisheries, aquatics, and wildlife surveys is a significant asset.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for fieldwork.
