What is the opportunity?

Driven by RBC’s commitment to provide employees with purpose-driven rewarding careers, and underpinned by regulatory expectations to ensure Financial Crimes employees have the required capabilities to successfully perform their roles; the Senior Manager, Talent Management is responsible developing, driving and executing a skills-based strategy for Financial Crimes roles across RBC. The Senior Manager, Talent Management will lead the skills assessment, identify skills gaps and design and implement a mitigation plan.

What will you do?

  • Facilitate the end-to-end skills assessment process.
  • Lead the design and implementation of the future sustainability of the program to evolve into BAU practices for skill-based talent management.
  • Support bank leadership in navigating core steps of the process including gathering input to demand estimates, governance intake for assessments, workshop scheduling and coordination, findings narratives, and materials development (e.g. job aids, training design, communications).
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings with senior leaders and people managers to discuss remediating gaps.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in skills assessment and consistently look for ways to enhance and simplify the process and program.
  • Provide consultative recommendations to the business on skill gap remediation.
  • Document all evidence of work to demonstrate completion of regulatory process steps.
  • Develop reports and presentations for internal stakeholders that are compelling, concise, and convey the FC team’s skills framework.
  • Provides data-driven insights and support to enable informed decision-making by people leaders, including data visualization, data storytelling, and user-centric dashboard design. Develops compelling, well designed, and automated dashboards that support workforce planning capability using diverse sets of structured and unstructured data.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • 2-4 years of experience in human resources, project management, or organizational development within a large, complex corporate environment.
  • Excellent performance consulting and relationship management skills with demonstrated capability in managing stakeholders.
  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal and demonstrated presentation skills.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated team player who quickly builds trust and has collaborative working relationships with business leaders and partners across many groups and geographies.
  • Experience in developing and executing workforce skill gap assessments, preferably in a financial institution.
