Partner Staffing is currently working with our client to find a Senior Mechanical Designer based out of their Kelowna office. In this role, you will manage a team of designers to take projects from inception to completion, ensuring quality, time, and budget expectations are achieved. You should be an experienced designer with an excellent track record, both technically and in business development. Creative thinking and a proactive attitude, along with strong communication, organizational, and report-writing skills, are essential.

Responsibilities
  • Mechanical design including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and building control systems.
  • Manage the planning, coordination, and completion of multiple projects.
  • Review of system design calculations and equipment selections.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, specifications, and meeting minutes.
  • Team supervision, including assigning work, peer reviews, and technical guidance.
  • Establish and monitor internal budgets and project delivery schedules.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to designers to ensure they are continually growing.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Contribute to company-wide initiatives for the development of new systems and standards.
  • Comply with our client’s quality management standards and processes.
Skills
  • Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, IESve, HAP, and Microsoft Office.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of technical developments in the field of engineering.
  • Clear and concise communication, both orally and written
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish effective working relationships with all employees, clients, colleagues, and municipal agencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to formulate sound engineering decisions and judgments.


Requirements

  • P.Eng. or Professional Technologist designation. You should be registered and in good standing with EGBC or ASTTBC.
  • Minimum 6 years of mechanical (HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection) experience in design, project management, and client relations.
  • Sustainable design certification (LEED®, Certified Passive House Designer, etc.) or experience would be an asset.
