The After Hours Response Team is a dedicated duo working opposite shifts to provide essential support and service. This small but dynamic team complements each other, ensuring that all needs are met around the clock. They collaborate closely with the City Wide Intake Team, Indigenous communities, and various cultural and community agencies, fostering an inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives.
The Role:
The Child Protection Worker, After Hours Response (7on 7off) : As a Child Protection Worker, After Hours Response, you will offer vital support to individuals and families facing crises after hours, including weekends and holidays. Your primary focus will be to ensure the safety and well-being of at-risk children while helping families navigate difficult situations. This role allows you to make a meaningful impact in your community by providing essential after-hours child protection services. You have the opportunity to work independently in high-pressure situations, where your skills can directly help those in need and promote a safer, more inclusive environment for everyone. Candidates should be excited about the diversity of the work, which includes assessing immediate safety, screening reports, performing wellbeing checks, extending safety and family plans, serving court documents, and more. Each shift brings unique challenges and opportunities, ensuring that no two days are the same. You will have the opportunity to handle complex cases independently, manage crises, and make a real difference in their community during emotionally charged situations.

About this Position:
This posting is not limited to the geographic area. Board and lodging and relocation expenses do not apply.
The position will have full time on-site requirements.
This position is on a 7 day on 7 day off shift rotation working three (3) 11 hour shifts and four (4) 9.25 hour shifts to equal 70 hours in a one week period. This includes weeknights, weekends, and stat holidays when the regular government office is closed.
