What you will do:
As a member of Johnson Controls Operations & Maintenance staff at Providence Care Hospital you will be part of a team that performs a variety of tasks to maintain building systems and structures throughout the facility. Duties include:
How you will do it:
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, perform all work in accordance with established Johnson Controls safety requirements.
  • Able to work in occupied areas of a functioning healthcare facility
  • Maintain building systems HVAC equipment, plumbing, electrical, as required as allowed by trade licensing requirements.
  • Perform building rounds and monitoring of systems and equipment.
  • Use of computerized work order system (CMMS), including the ability to prioritize work orders, perform work as requested within allotted timelines.
  • Provide general handyman services throughout the facility as required.
  • Observe assigned areas for maintenance issues, reporting items in need of attention to supervisor, making routine repairs as requested.
  • Assist in materials inventory.
  • Perform routine checks of buildings and grounds.
  • Change light bulbs as necessary to ensure all fixtures are fully operational.
  • Working with client staff to resolve facility issues and provide excellent customer service
  • Running errands, i.e. retrieving supplies/materials for tasks, holding objects (materials requiring more than one person), cleaning-up after completion of tasks, assisting with subcontracted work.
  • Performing any other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent, experience in facility maintenance or construction preferred
  • A current trade license is an asset
  • Ability to read and interpret labels, directions, etc.
  • Physical ability to perform basic maintenance tasks, including climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs..
  • Able to work nights, holidays, and weekends, and on call, as required.
  • Team player committed to working in a quality environment.
