Responsibilities
  • Complete understanding of the Chelsea philosophy and apply to all phases of the meeting planning process to include the transition from the sales manager, pre-planning, onsite execution, post meeting follow-up and relationship maintenance.
  • Determine and actively solicit prospective customers from existing market information including but not limited to organization social committees, 3rd party planners, marketing and public relations firms and communications firms.
  • Generate and present proposals and contracts to customers, tailored to their requirements.
  • Negotiates catering & event bookings within established parameters.
  • Work with hotel marketing team to promote hotel on social media websites.
  • Entertains potential and existing clients.
  • Assist clients in mapping out event programs to maximize hotel revenue and resources to exceed guest expectations.
  • Works closely with all operating departments to exceed guest expectations by providing clear, timely and effective information.
  • Up-selling food and beverage menus to maximize revenues within set guidelines.
  • Performs other tasks and projects as assigned by Management.
  • Complies with hotel policies and procedures. 

Business

  • Develop and actively solicit new business prospecting lists and prioritized customer accounts.
  • Attends and participates in related industry meetings, events and trade shows.
  • Accomplish monthly quotas linking sales activities, revenue generation and new business leads.
  • Develop and maintain monthly marketing plan for social catering market.

Customer Satisfaction

  • Be available for clients during evening & weekends as needed to secure business and assist during events.
  • Perform comprehensive site inspections to “Create the Vision” of the event.

Process Improvement/ Productivity

  • Develop and continuously update action plans for review each month with Director of Catering. 
  • Independently responsible for achievement of new business generation and revenue objectives outlined in action plans and sales activities.

Working Experience
• Minimum of 2-3 years experience in event design and/or event sales.
• Previous catering experience at a hotel or event venue an asset.
• Experience with Delphi and Microsoft Word/Excel is beneficial.


Education
• Bachelor’s degree and/or Hotel Management degree.
