Our client is currently hiring for the position of Civil Grademan for sites all over the Vancouver Lower Mainland. We are looking for an experienced and skilled individual who can contribute to our client's team and help them deliver high-quality civil works, excavation and shoring solutions.

Must Haves:
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Grademan/Surveyor on a pipe crew
- Good communicator: listening, speaking, directing, and using hand signals
- Being able to work around heavy equipment, understand blind spots, operator eye contact, signals, body positioning and general expectations and sense required to stay safe
- Good mathematics skills, able to keep pipe grade in the trench and from manhole to manhole
- Ability to read civil drawings and determine and keep track of upcoming fittings along trench line
- Ability to use a level, pipe laser, laser level, plumb bobs, etc for grading or shooting pipe
- Keep detailed records of layout and as-built information and markup hard copy drawings with changes
- Able to travel throughout lower mainland, have reliable transportation, and valid drivers license

- Underground Disturbance Level II Supervisor Training
- Ability to use GPS units, machine grade control equipment setup and data input
Responsibilities:
- Prioritize safe work practices.
- Cultivate a crew culture that believes in and enforces safety protocols.
- Optimize safety in production.
- Regularly update BC1 calls and coordinate with foreman, pipelayer, and operator.
- Guarantee quality of work.
- Familiarize oneself with detailed drawings at the project's onset to identify potential gaps.
- Examine MMCD drawings and specific municipal specifications.
- Pre-check survey layout two weeks ahead. Finalize planning and calculations two days prior.
- Establish transits and benchmarks. Validate with loop-closing checks.
- Collaborate with the crew to determine grades.
- Record daily as-built drawings.
- Educate and guide crew members.
- Ensure proper care and upkeep of Grademan's tools.
