Job Description:

The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team helps to drive overall business performance by challenging and supporting critical decision making through the delivery of insightful analysis, action-oriented reporting and the design and management of planning and forecasting processes that meet both Corporate and Operational requirements. We ensure maximum impact through clear messaging, presentation, effective business partnering with senior management stakeholders and focused communication of group strategic and financial goals. This is will be an individual contributor at the management level, capable of self-motivating their work; challenging and discerning how and what work gets done and is able to build relationships and hold accountabilities at senior levels within the organization and with themselves.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Pet Valu Canada is seeking a Manager of FP&A to support our Marketing, Digital and Corporate Services departments. In the role of Manager FP&A Marketing, Digital & Corporate Services, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Participate in the internal financial communication processes. Be involved in Budgeting, Forecasting and Reporting processes.
  • Contribute to the implementation of relevant KPIs, dashboard and monitoring tools. Provide ad-hoc data analysis to Management when required.
  • Be the financial expert on for each department supported; guide decision making with relevant financial analysis and provide regular communication on the expectations of upcoming vehicles and their impact on the organization.

Experience, Education, Certifications

  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a Management, Senior Financial Analyst, or Senior Business Analyst role is required.
  • Relevant professional designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA, CFA) with prior exposure to the Retail Industry and Marketing functions in a financial support or analytical capacity preferred.
  • Exposure to financial systems and business intelligence tools required (e.g., NAV, Tableau, Adaptive or similar tools).
  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel and data manipulation for financial reporting.
  • Self-driven and highly motivated with precision and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with systems and technology, able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to perform multiple tasks and projects within defined deadlines.
  • Solid base of finance knowledge and accounting standards.
  • Highly responsive and timely, with a developed sense of urgency to meet tight deadlines.
