Position Overview:

As a Sous Chef at Queen’s Harbour, you will be a key leader in our kitchen, supporting the Senior Sous Chef and Head Chef in all aspects of culinary operations. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest quality and consistency of our MediterrAsian-inspired dishes while mentoring and guiding the kitchen team. This position is perfect for an experienced and passionate chef who thrives in a high-energy environment and is eager to push culinary boundaries.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Inspire: Support the Sous Chef and Head Chef in managing the kitchen team, fostering a culture of teamwork, creativity, and excellence.
  • Execute Exceptional Dishes: Oversee the preparation and presentation of MediterrAsian cuisine, ensuring consistency and innovation.
  • Manage Kitchen Operations: Supervise daily kitchen activities, including food prep, cooking, and plating, ensuring smooth service.
  • Train & Develop Staff: Mentor and train junior chefs, instilling best practices and high culinary standards.
  • Monitor Quality & Standards: Uphold the highest levels of food quality, taste, and presentation in every dish.
  • Inventory & Cost Control: Assist in inventory management, minimizing waste, and maintaining food cost efficiency.
  • Ensure Compliance: Maintain adherence to food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations.
  • Problem-Solve Under Pressure: Handle challenges with confidence, ensuring seamless kitchen operations during peak service times.


Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in hospitality or similar environment.
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a high-volume, quality-driven restaurant.
  • Culinary diploma is preferred.
  • Expertise in kitchen equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations.
  • Leadership experience with a passion for mentoring and developing teams.
  • Ability to multitask, delegate, and perform under pressure.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
